I'm often referred to as "The House Doctor of Ponte Vedra Beach" and I make house calls.
'PVB House Doctor': For over 30-years I have been invited by PVB area homeowners to evaluate their ideas for their home renovations. In an hour visit I can define what is practical, confirm or disuade their original ideas, and/ or stretch their imagination into new and inovative solutions - often on a smaller budget. I can then give a fee proposal after defining the scope of work to be done.
33 Cusom Design/ Build Homes – Madison, WI
Architect/ Home Builder: President of my own design/ build company that designed and built 33 custom homes in 3 years. Developed a highly-effective, 18-page, Design Program Questionaire to use with clients to determine their specific wants and needs. Did extensive value engineering to control construction costs, and fit some homes on very challenging sites.
1,300 Single Family Homes – Duval, St. Johns, Clay and Nassau Counties, FL
Corporate Architect: Managed a 7-person Architectural Department that produced 1,314 sets of house construction documents and 1,280 building permits in two years, in Jacksonville, FL. Also designed 40 new F.A.S.T. System house plans from 1,312 SF to 2,801 SF. This included 103 ‘Styles’ (defined by a common foundation, roof and fenestration) and 341 different ‘Fronts’ or elevations. Orchestrated the production of over 150 pieces of housing sales literature consisting of ‘sales plans and options’ as well as 3 or 4 rendered elevations each.
Serena Point 17-Unit Condominium
– Jacksonville Beach, FL ($6.2M / 2005)
Project Architect: Fit a 7-story, 17-residence condominium of 54,178 gross SF with five unit types ranging from 1,900 SF to 2,408 SF over one level of indoor parking, all on a 0.473 acre site.
Marina San Pablo Condominium – Jacksonville, FL ($36M / 2007)
Architect: Designed seven condominium residences from 2,172 to 6,370 SF. All residences have terraces overlooking the 90-slip marina and the intercostals waterway. The project was designed to have 113 residences in three 11-story buildings.
Arbor Lakes 282-Unit Apartments - Sanford, FL
Project Architect: Coordinated Design, Code Reviews, Orlando Consultants and Project Team in the production of construction documents. Project included 282 Apartment Units in (27) 2-story buildings, a 7,200 SF, 1-story Clubhouse, carports and 5 other ancillary structures.
Prototype Single Family Homes – Fredricksburg, MD & Madison, WI
Apprentice: Designed 3 ultra cost-effective, no waste, single family, 1,400 SF to 1,600 SF houses for a component manufacturer in Fredricksburg, MD who built the houses thousands of times. Used the same plans to build 15 speculative homes with my own 11-person design-build company in Madison, WI. Also, sold, designed and built 18 custom homes and showcased a fully furnished model home in 2 years of the Madison Parade of Homes.
400-Unit Moody Quiet Pines South – Moody Air Force Base, Valdosta, GA (2003)
Project Architect: Privatization of Military Family Housing competition. Directed the design team (planners, civil, structural, & mechanical engineers, architects and landscape architects) in the master planning and design of this new 331 unit community and replacement of 69 units on base. Designed 5 detached house types, 3 duplex types and 2 triplex types. Units ranged from 1,340 SF to 3,330 SF.
347-Unit Buckley Family Housing – Buckley Air Force Base, Aurora, CO (2004)
Project Architect: Another Privatization of 347 units of Military Family Housing competition similar to above.
